Even when its potential advantages have been recognised, how, when and where to implement eLearning in conjunction with established practice has still not been fully explored. The JISC eLearning pedagogy programme is aimed both at providing the post-16 and HE community with accurate, up-to-date, evidence- and research-based information about effective practice in the use of eLearning tools and promoting the application and development of -Learning tools and standards to better support effective practice. So if you'd like to know more the site is well worth a visit. Through this programme JISC has been funding a number of projects over the last 4 years focussing on two main themes - The Designing for Learning strand is exploring the process of designing, planning and sequencing effective eLearning and the Understanding my Learning strand explores the learners perspective of eLearning.
Published on April 2007, this briefing paper is one of a number which outline the JISC Learner Experience of eLearning studies and highlights what learners are saying about their experience of learning with technology. It states that "In general, these studies found that learners rely on a wide range of technologies which they adapt and personalise to their own needs. Despite their sophisticated use of technology in their personal lives, however transferring these approaches directly to study is not always appropriate ..."

New Web 2.0 tools are enabling greater sharing of effective practice and good resources with easy to use interfaces. Below is a list of favourite teaching & learning sites. The size of the font indicates the amount of relevant resources that you'll find in each category, dynamically changing as more are added. Look in the Learning Technologies section of the web site for more information on a number of Web2.0 tools that you might find useful to use.
