Federated Access Management

Identity management is becoming ever more important as many more learning & research resources become available online. Provided across many locations by many service providers it's becoming difficult to look after a different users ID and password for each one.

This is where Federated Access Management comes in, with a single user ID and password provided by your local institution IT dept the full range or materials your institution is licensed for becomes available wither on campus or on remote publisher servers.

Shibboleth on Windows

The Windows beta version of Shibboleth 1.3 is available on the JANET site here however a fully certified 2.0 windows installer is to be available soon. The JANET site has some useful case studies and information on installing SSL certificates etc.
