e-Safety for vulnerable learners:
What do you need to know to keep your learners (and yourself) safe?
Date: Wednesday, 20th June 2012, 12:30 - 13:00
Venue: Online
Cost: FREE
We all have an obligation to safeguard the welfare of learners, especially when using technology in learning and teaching.
There are however a variety of legal issues to consider within the e-safety context, including cyberbullying, harassment, defamation and data protection. It is important therefore for staff to consider the management of these risks in order to both safeguard vulnerable learners (and staff), whilst at the same time encouraging and promoting independence. This can be difficult and often takes place with no definitive solutions.
JISC Legal will be delivering an online session based on your questions, your concerns and your issues in relation to e-Safety and e-Responsibility.
