RSCtv - A Byte of Lunch

lunctime online webinars

The 2012 schedule of lunchtime online webinar presentations is available now. Starting in February, we will be chatting with staff from Scottish FE & HE institutions, talking about thier innovative projects that have been compiled through our Case Studies initiative. Webinars will last for 30 - 45 minutes. RSCtv logo

The online presentation technology is called Blackboard Collaborate, browser based software, which combines video/audio, text chat, slides and screen sharing capabilities to produce a media rich environment. The software enables delegates to interact with the presenters and provides opportunitites to ask questions and give feedback to the presenter in real time. To particiapte you need nothing more than a network enabled PC or Mac running an up-to-date browser.

"This was a great way of training without having to leave your desk."

"Enjoyed it not just for the content but for the way it was delivered."

Future RSCtv Live Broadcasts

Case studies about how learning technologies are being used around the institutions in Scotland are a great way of sharing the knowledge and experience that's gained with others in the sector. Join in our online sessions to find out how intitiatives have progressed and ways in which your organisation can benefit from others working in FE & HE in Scotland.

Further Information & Guidance

To view a broadcast you must first register using the booking form. A URL for logging into the presentation will be emailed to you the day before the broadcast. On the day, the broadcast will be enabled 15 minutes before the scheduled time to allow you to check in and get settled before the presentation starts. Sessions are recorded so that they can be viewed at a later date.

Blackboard Collborate is the platform we use to deliver RSCtv. If you are new to using Collaborate we recommend that you read the Guidance Notes for further information on setting up and getting the most out of the presentation. You can also access a Quick Guide to Collaborate here.
To test your workstation and see if there are any problems, such as network configuration issues or browser compatibility, run the Collaborate Test Facility.

Collaborate is designed to enable users with disabilities to fully participate. It's features and functionality facilitate accessibility for all participants, including keyboard access to menus and dialogs, enlarged video, user-defined color, screen reader compatibility, and more. See the Collaborate Accessibility webpage for further information.
