Implementation Guide
The eSkills for eLearning course has been piloted with a number of colleges during 2006 & 2007 and having reviewed the feedback, we have provided guidelines that if followed will help to ensure a successful course.
It is recommended that a small team is given responsibility for delivering the course rather than one individual e.g. one or two ICT/ILT enthusiasts, a learning resources specialist and an ELS specialist would make a good team which would utilise existing expertise within your institution.
It is recommended that the delivery team attend an induction workshop run by RSC staff.
It is recommended that a course is run over 8 x 1/2 day workshops run in consecutive weeks. This pace maintains continuity, allows for reflection from week to week and avoids overload.
It is recommended that the same venue is used throughout the course so that any technical requirements can be easily arranged in advance.
It is recommended that groups comprise of between 8 - 12 individuals from different subject areas. This encourages communication across the institution and facilitates the sharing of effective practice.
It is recommended that participants are given a pack similar to the example pack provided. (the RSC are able to supply packs for a small charge)
Evaluation should be carried out using the RSC online evaluation tool which will be provided.
